Just started crocheting a couple months ago. Wanted do make an afgan for my mom that was a bunch of different squares, so this worked out perfect. Ive about half completed the 2018 cal. Since I'm a beginner, I decided to use the small skeins of premier yarn you can buy at dollar tree, plus they are easy to bring to work with me to work on on my lunch break. I did decide to use a 4mm hook though, since the yarn im using is supposed to be all worsted but 2 of 7 colors feel lighter and one feels heavier. And all my squares are matching up.
